Meet Your President

Nicole Ashba is the current Director of Human Resources for Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives, which includes the G&T plants of Buckeye Power and the Statewide Association. Nicole has served in her role since 2017.

Nicole has over 25 years of combined Human Resources experience working in manufacturing, engineering, research and design, and the oil and gas industries. Nicole has extensive experience in strategic Human Resources and has managed all department functions including benefits, payroll, compensation, recruitment, as well as union negotiations and grievance processes.

Employee Relations is another area of expertise. Nicole spent several years specializing in compliance, performance management, layoffs, harassment awareness, and compliance training. Nicole is a respected Human Resources leader who effectively utilizes strategic planning, hands on experience, as well as vast organizational and leadership capabilities.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources from Wright State University and graduated Cum Laude.

In Nicole’s personal life, she is wife to husband, Aaron, and mom to two children—Briana (21), and Brady (12), plus fur-baby, pug Chloe (15). Outside the office, she enjoys watching her son play hockey, football, and baseball. Nicole also enjoys yoga, Barre3, walking, boating with her family, listening to audio books, and spending time with family and friends.

Key Contributions to the Association

As President of the National G&T HR Association Inc., Nicole is responsible for:

    • Organizing and leading all meetings of the Association; typically, monthly recurring meetings with the Board of Directors and the annual business meeting.
    • Appointing necessary committees to accomplish business of the Association; primarily for compensation and benefit survey administration and conference planning. Setting the agenda and coordinating the annual conference plans with the conference host, with input from the Board of Directors.
    • Liaising with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), as needed and primarily driven by the initiatives of the Board of Directors.

        Why She Serves

        "I have always had a desire to give back and grow my relationships both personally and professionally. I truly enjoy sharing my career experience and business knowledge to the benefit of others. I sincerely believe, no matter how busy life is, there is always time to help and serve others. To serve the greater cooperative community in this role is both an honor and pleasure."
