Meet Your Past President

Kelly Grones was born and raised in South Texas.  She joined South Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc., in 2015 as the Manager of Safety & Training and currently serves as the Manager of Human Resources.  Throughout her 23 years of service within the cooperative, petroleum, refining, medical, and nuclear industries, her top priorities included employee relations, policy development, workforce planning, injury management, auditing, and compliance.  She received a B.S. degree from the University of Texas-Tyler and received a M.B.A. from Texas Woman’s University. 

She and husband, Scott, have three amazing daughters Bailey, Brooke, and Bethany.  She and her family enjoy traveling and hiking.

Key Contributions to the Association

As Past President of the National G&T HR Association Inc., she continues to play an active leadership role by:

• Providing guidance and strategic insight in her capacity as Past President.

• Actively participating in all Association meetings to support informed, collaborative decisions.

• Contributing to key committees to help drive the Association’s mission and initiatives forward.

Why She Serves

“Building professional relationships has always been important," said Kelly.  She most enjoys connecting with peers to expand her leadership skills, her knowledge of HR practices and trends, and to gain experience in strategic planning.   “It’s a great way to advocate for the HR profession and influence policy decisions that impact our organizations.”
