Meet Your Director At Large

Shawn Calhoun was born and raised in Louisiana and received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Louisiana.  Shawn has over 30 years’ experience working in Human Resources. From 1992 to 2010, she advanced through the ranks at Bausch + Lomb locations across the country, finishing as their Corporate Director, Employee Relations, Diversity, and HR Compliance in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2010, Shawn joined Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. and serves as their Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer. 

When she’s not working, she is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, serves on the United Way board, and is a trustee for the board of her church. Shawn also enjoys traveling to keep connected with friends and to visit her extensive family – especially her granddaughter, Zoe.

Key Contributions to the Association

As a Board member the National G&T HR Association Inc., 

Shawn supports the Association by:

• Providing a historical perspective and information on past practices of the Association. 
• Engaging in committees to accomplish business of the Association
• Overseeing the planning and organizing of the 2026 annual conference.
